Crrr-unch (for the nf-sooc-2015 challenge) by janetb

Crrr-unch (for the nf-sooc-2015 challenge)

The big, old hickory hangs so pretty over the front walk; but it’s that time of year when the tree lets loose a barrage of nuts. The squirrels devour them, leaving the remnants of their feasts to crrr-unch beneath the feet of comers and goers. This familiar annual cadence, part of the heartbeat of our beloved home on this wooded hill, marches us straight on into Autumn’s glory!

I like viewing this image best on the black background.

I challenged myself to capture this scene using my 35mm prime lens (the equivalent of a 50mm lens on my Nikon D7100) with no editing, so this image is posted exactly as it came out of the camera. You can read about the fun nf-sooc-2015 challenge here.

Hey Janet - this is a great start... I like the use of limited DoF in this image.
