Moonbeam and Sundial by janetb

Moonbeam and Sundial

I snapped lots of photos in the garden this morning, but none delighted me more than this shot of Coreopsis Moonbeam snuggled up close to the sundial. All Summer long, its butter yellow blossoms shine in the sun, glow in the moonlight, and sing to my soul!
I really like your composition in this photo Janet. Nice capture.

@nydelignorsk Thank you! This perennial thrives in bright sun, which is exactly what we've had recently; so it has really taken off!

The design and texture of the sundial's base added some great lines and a bit of abstract to the image. I like how the yellows of the flowers are matched by the pale paint on the stand.

@lyndemc Thanks so much, Denise, for your comment and fav! The Moonbeam began as a small clump and has now stretched its wispy stems far and wide.

I love the contrast here: yellow and gray, big and small, permanent and temporary, hard and soft . . .
