Landing gear down

My neighbour has an enormous ceanothus which looks incredible at this time of year so a few years ago I bought a couple for our garden. The location wasn't ideal as it's a bit neglected and every so often we clear out all the weeds and sometimes (if Nigel is involved) proper plants go as well. But one shrub has survived and has started to take off - it's next to a previously neglected lilac that is also doing well - worth a walk down the garden with my camera.
Great catch

What an amazing close up. His face looks huge. I've had 2 ceanothus and cost both of them when it was so cold. Shame, they are so beautiful.
