Salon

Apologies first of all for shockingly poor commenting - hoping to catch up ASAP. We went to Adam's leaving drinks for parents which was very nice indeed but not long enough to see everybody which was a shame. The end of an era and we went out for pizza at Jamie Oliver's afterwards - a nice bit of time with Adam who has been barely seen since the end of exams. It seems like no time at all since he was going for his orientation day. Jamie's pizza place is upstairs and I was distracted by the window opposite - possibly above Hairy Canary hair salon but I'm not 100% sure it's still there.
Fun shot of that clever salon advertising. Looks like a charming place.
I imagine that farewell get together with parents was bittersweet. Everyone is on to new chapters in their lives.

@peggysirk Yes indeed - the Head told them they have to be kind to their mothers - and to keep in touch to avoid unannounced visits!

Sound advice. ☺

Sounds a great speech from one who knows those boys! Love all you can see out of the pizza place......different types of construction in the old roof & just beyond that rather old looking place. Hairy Canary sounds interesting!

Marvelous find and I like your composition. Surely Adam hasn't graduated already? How did time go so fast? Where will he be next year?

@jgpittenger in the US sense from High School yes! He is off to Central St Martin's School of Art. More scary is that Rachel is graduating from her degree in 2 weeks!

Love everything about this shot, Judith. Fav

Really like the way you've zoomed in to the window and the juxtaposition of old tiles and modern adverts. These rites of passage marking endings and beginnings and both happy and sad, aren't they? One is so aware of time marching on.

Cool capture. Am amused by the title 'Hairy Canary'! End of an era for us too over at Mikey"s school n Bury. Sadly we are missing the final parent bash as Hubby is away ... again ... :(
