For once a lovely day for watching a rugby match - just when it gets pleasant the season ends! A comprehensive victory for the home team and a really spirited effort from the opposition was a great way to end the school season. Not the best photo ever but the easiest make anonymous.
This shot IS the best, Judith! It captures the activity & emotion perfectly!!! Hooray for the home team and hooray for sunshine!
I have a terminology question again.....what is SCRUM?
@janellemc You're so kind!!! A scrum is what they're doing here - the biggest 8 (I think) out of the team of 15 get down in formation and shove up against the opposition while the boy on the right (the scrum half) put the ball into the middle. Then they try and kick the ball out of the back of their legs where the scrum half collects it and the game carries on. It's a way of redrafting play after a foul - the team that puts the ball in has an advantage - but not much if their boys are too small!
