Merry Christmas to one and all! I didn't manage to upload on the day because we had guests and there was a dodgy film to snooze through and then a competitive Bananagram league with only minor cheating along the lines of "Well that's the UK/US spelling!' A really lovely day with the only downside being that Rachel is abroad but that was mitigated by her having a lovely time and being one of the two chefs for Christmas dinner and doing me proud. She said, 'It's a lot of pressure' and she's right - thank goodness for the Nazreen Dar supermarket being open for replacement potatoes after I was distracted during parboiling and turned the first lot to mash.
Hope you all had a good day in a variety of worldwide ways. Here Prancer is explaining the strict rules of reindeer racing after being released from his cracker.
Merry Christmas! Competitive bananagrams huh? Sound like my kind of league. Glad you had a good day though sorry your girl was missing. I found out just before Christmas that we're having a boy this time, and though I am delighted I keep wailing over the fact that I'll never buy tiny baby dresses again. (The fact that I never bought tiny baby dresses last time round seems to have escaped my hormone's attention).
JB & I cooked this year and overdid the parboiling too - we just ended up effectively deep frying the mash in a tray of goose fat. It wasn't pretty, but it tasted pretty damn good...
@jewelsandbinoculars just seen this, so pleased for you...how very exciting! One of each is the perfect plan, how clever you both are! Been very careful not to mention it on your page!
