...but a super duper chauffer punter in training! My next door neighbour owns a chauffer punting business and has given Rachel a job for the summer (& Easter weekend). She was going to be a 'punt hand' getting the boats ready but the punt manager is keen to have some girl punters so we were taken on a training run on a big tour punt this morning. It's fair to say she was doing better without the parental advice... This is a windy, fast flowing bit of river at St John's. The fancy bridge is the Bridge of Sighs and the one behind is the Kitchen Bridge. She has to learn the info as well as the punting - good to finally take an interest in the home town she takes for granted! Sun has gone again - these are the sort of white Cambridge skies we've had to contend with for weeks!!
And thanks so much for all your recent commenting - it's fab to have feedback. :0)
What a wonderful summer job!! Does she give all the historical guided tour info as well? Rachel already looks like a pro in this photo. Love this shot...well done to both the chauffeur and the photographer.
I love this shot. I lived in Cambridge for 6 months when I was 13 and went punting a few times. The Bridge of Sights is so beautiful, love that it is in the background.
