My friend says my photos give the impression that we are cloistered in Cambridge perfection (she didn't say it was a bad thing - it's just that I manage to miss out the scaffolding and skips and bikes that aren't tasteful ;0)). She's right - it's not all beautiful but I just can't help myself - I can't post the decaying Texaco garage or the some of the souless streets in the outskirts.
It was hot today (proper English hot anyway) and I think this gives a good idea of the strength of the sun. Emmanuel College - not a great deal more to see there except it does turn into a very unexpected 'park' with a big pond and lots of ducks - squashed between John Lewis and the bus station.
Massive thanks to everybody who has viewed, commented and Faved - you are magnificent!
A stunning capture! The light is simply fabulous through the arches. Beautifully photographed, Judith! You do live in a glorious spot on the planet...so rife in history, beauty and tradition. I would imagine it's hard to find something less than ideal to photograph...but if you do find something trashy, I'd like to see it. :)
Judith a great shot and quite a wide angle too, now where are those two young ladies from your "Senate House Passage" photo.......they would look great right at the far end of the Cloisters :)
@phil_howcroft You know this shot has been irritating me - no bike or people - inside a college out of term time. In fact I think I'm going to be frustrated soon - outside the colleges the streets are packed - too many people - inside not enough interesting clutter. Well you may see a lot of Monty!
Beautiful shot, I love the arches and shadows, and you make your town look beautiful as I am sure it is. I see texaco garages here, but I dont see anything like the shots you take.
