So - guess who went out without a battery in her camera today? And I definitely peaked too soon on the garden theme for this week ...sooo ....I'm afraid Easter has come early. We're off to visit relatives tomorrow and it's compulsory at this time of year to turn up with a Rice Krispie nest and a fluffy chick or two. Should any of those relatives be having a sneaky look at this pic then please go and put the Hoover round and stop spoiling the surprise ;0).
On the real nest front ( http://365project.org/judithg/365/2011-04-07) I'm afraid it's not good news for that particular clutch but the parents seem to be busy in another tree and there is another pair of blackbirds feeding young just over the fence. Also, after some immodest amorous activity a pair of bluetits has taken up residence in our birdbox for the first time in ages - good news as their alternative home in my neighbour's lilac tree was like Sky Sport for cats and caused enormous amounts of stress for birds and concerned humans, so much so that my neighbour took that part of the tree down!
Hopefully I'll produce something better in Sussex - sorry if I'm quiet on the commenting side for a day or two.
This is so cute, all we do here are overpriced easter eggs. Pity about the nest, but nature always bonces back, and the battery thing, done it twice and I am sure I will do it again.
Glad to hear the blackbird population is growing despite the loss of one nest. :)
