It's like mid-May in Cambridge - the cow parsley and lilac are in full bloom and the dog is reluctant to walk in the afternoon. So I dropped Adam at hockey camp this morning (field hockey - it's really too hot for running round for six hours but it keeps him quiet) and went straight out with Monty. This colony of geese has featured before but there was a new addition this morning. I think there may have been more originally - both parents were being very protective with dad keeping a really good look out. There was no way I was going near with the dog so this is the best quality I could get and the whites are blown which is a shame - but still it was a lovely little scene and a tender moment.
Judith, I don't know why, but the image is very much an English country scene...but it could be anywhere ...but it just feels so English. Am I talking rubbish ?
@helenmoss There was another on a nest further up the river - I just hope the numbers of geese will intimidate a fox. How many in a clutch do you reckon - have his gorgeous little siblings already made a foxy breakfast?
I found out I wasn't following you - I made up for it straight away :)
