It's fair to say that Nigel has been worried about the hens getting too hot. And he's planning an extension. And he wasn't keen on having hens.....
I am amazed at this vision of comfort Judith ! They are in 5 star accommodation & sun umbrellas too ... I hope they know what side their bread is buttered on !!!! Such a pretty pen it's all fantastic ! Tell Nigel not to worry too much about these hens , they have all mod coms ! Our hens dropped off lay a little bit when it was hot the other day & only laid one egg but back to normal now ! Great photo !!
@happypat Thanks for the fave - they are soft Southern hens!! I did laugh when I went down the garden - mind you it was extraordinarily hot when he constructed paradise!
How wonderful! It makes me so happy to see pets being cared for in this way! My friend does the parasol thing for her rabbits! One day i will keep hens.....not allowed where we are now.
That's lovely! The construction is very nice! At my previous house, the neighbour has made something like this for 2 hens, but it was mobile, so he could move it when all the grass was eaten. It was in the country and there was enough land for it, of course.
This is quite funny - these hens are being spoiled but I'm glad about it. Animals suffer from the heat just as we do and often they can't do anything about it so we have to do it. How kind of you!
I love the sunshades for the hens. We've had a bit of a disaster with ours this week. Mr Fox came to visit, and well, you can probably guess the rests...
