Well I'm frustrated on the photo front today! Our morning routine is completely shot - we are leaving the house later and later and I'm always ten minutes too late for a spectacular enormous rising sun (to say nothing of the school bus). And there was a gigantic moon tonight when I went to collect Adam from the bus stop but I didn't have my camera or anywhere to park. AND Monty was confused by the snow/hoop combination and did some comedy jumping around in the park - I got a set of pictures that would make a nice collage but Picnik has stopped doing them by either old or new approaches and I don't have enough time to find a different program so you're only getting one which doesn't really work. BUT owing to a small windfall courtesy of (inadequate) compensation for pension mismanagement I bought a new camera!!! A very nice man helped me out, took me to the till to remove the security tags and the lady at the till said, 'That's half my wage.' What do you say to that?! So I'd like you to know that I really appreciate my new camera (Canon D600) and I'll still be appreciating it when I'm still working at 90 because of the messed up pension :0) !
Aaaaand breeeeaaathe....!
And HE is a SUPERcute pup!
Try Picasa for collages (almost identical to Picnik, but on your PC all the time, as opposed to having to do it online) x
At least some one likes the snow....old Monty..funny we had a dog called Monty back in the 50's..ssshhh...As for the lady on the till..you should of asked her to charge it to some bankers account and while she was at it bought something her self...how much do they owe us...!!!
thought you'd got a new puppy.
good for you on the windfall, times are hard and i'm sure the lady was feeling well poor and pissed off but you got nowt to be ashamed of.
Love how his ears flap in confusion! lovely light too! I missed two fantastic sunsets in two days because I was stuck in traffic...yay for you on the new camera! I think you deserve it!!
WooHoo ~ congratulations on the new camera!! May it serve you well through the coming decades. :) Monty is fabulous, as always, in this cute shot! And thanks for reminding me about the full moon tonight. It won't be showing up here for a few more hours ~ should be a marvelous night for a moon shooting.
@sleepdozer57@tsingtao Well after she'd made me feel bad she said she has one and it takes really nice pics, and the other assistant said he has a much more expensive model so I was thinking maybe I should get a job in Currys!!
@lluniau Yes I think I'll bite the bullet and do that - the Google+ thing just switched to Picasa but there didn't seem to be any processing....I need the proper version.
Great caption. I did laugh. I got a similar reaction when I went to buy a holster for the camera! £60 something quid, but in hindsight i wouldn't recommend anything else I've seen...!
This is perfect, I love the confused Monty! shot.
I don't know what I would say if I was told the camera was 1/2 my wage but either way I look forward to seeing pic's with your new camera! :)
WHoop whoop...you can borrow lenses off me at the weekend!! (was that the reason for buying a new camera??!) Monty looks like a pup here! sounds like a highly frustrating photographic day! (a bit like mine!)
@sparkle Ooooh I hadn't thought of that - that's exciting - I'm hoping I'll have learned which buttons to press by Sunday. I need to get competent before we go to Marrakech next wek - and take my ninja family so I don't get it stolen!!
Well a sort of stroke of good fortune but your money any way so enjoy ! we will enjoy the results Judith !!! You will be more fantastic than ever, hope you soon get used to it...will be fun learning !! Monty looks a pup there , I don't know how old he is but his ears are flapping & he looks on mid turn, fun in the snow !!! You sound like my daughter it's one long taxi service !!!
Best shot of Monty yet. Love the gliding ear action. He looks to be having a lot of fun. Snow is easy when you've got 4 paws with claws. New camera eh. Get you! Hope you enjoy :-). Blimey - been out for a meal and to the pub and mega behind on here already.
btw - you can still do collages in picnic. Go to library - then click start and it should appear on the right. Took me ages to work it out when I did mine last week.
Was this taken with THE NEW CAMERA. Or was that still in the poly bag at your side. Lovely candid shot ...and I'm sure you'll find a way of retiring at a reasonable age.:)
Hope you feel better with all those disappointments off your chest. Happy snapping with the new camera AND I love the candid camera shot of Monty. Have a great day!
This works great! I can totally see that he is looking for the ring and is way off, but at the same time, he is using his ears as some sort of weird antenna tracking device that does not seem to work, but makes him look exceptionally goofy and lovable.
I thought this was a puppy too at first. It's a great a shot of him. Don't feel guilty about the wage thing, we all have different levels of earning power and choose what we spend our money on.
Oh, Monty, cute as ever. Congrats on the new camera. May it serve you well. Just did a collage on Picasa yesterday - not sure how to go about the Google+ thing.
Oh, congrats on getting a new camera and a tres cher one at that. Monty is such a great character and even if he's not spotted the rubber ring yet, I know it's only moments away before he does. :)
Poor Monty was probably swinging his head back and forth so fast to look for the hoop, his ears blinded him. What a sweet boy!! Have fun with your new camera... I downloaded the lastest Picasa and find it very hard to navigate. Maybe I am just not patient or adaptable to change.
Monty does look very confused - great news about the new camera, not so good about the pension - when I get a minute - this weekend or half term next week, I'll do a thread on producing collages in GIMP, this morning is all change so I'm catching up on here (I should be teaching, extending teenagers to GCSE level, one is a witness in court, the other is sick/skiving so I'm in this afternoon instead, supporting sport when there isn't any because the fields are iced over)
And HE is a SUPERcute pup!
