And a couple of crocuses... Nigel has terrible sinusitis so he came out to walk with us this morning in the cool spring air for a bit of head clearance. So he took the dog and I had the camera. It's amazing how much easier it is to focus when you've got two hands! And I nipped through Trinity's gates to get a clear view of the library. The original Winnie the Pooh manuscripts live here amongst a few other books. Walking around Cambridge with dog and camera is like being a penniless child in a sweet shop sometimes - there are beautiful shots around if only I could get passed the 'No Dogs' signs. The daffodils in the Fellows' Garden at St John's are to die for at the moment (and I can't get in there even without a dog) - maybe I'll ask them for permission to go in and take some proper shots - during the mythical spare time I'm going to get next week!
I like the hazy backdrop of the library , the grounds of the collages are so beautiful it is frustrating not being able to go and take photos any were that you want. hope the afresh air helped Nigel. We have just been to the place were I took photos yesterday that were deleted so will try again!
May the myth become real next week. In the meanwhile this is lovely...dod, pov, composition, detail on the foreground crocuses, croci? I love thinking of the originals of Winnie the Pooh being there
This is a great shot Judith - I've got horrid sinisitus too - Sudafed, my best friend!! love the focus and detail in this - love the little droplets of water
lol love that sweet shop comment always the way you see the best shots when dog walking but then if we didnt walk them we prob wouldnt see the shots anyways great shot and thanks for the hoora on mine :))
oo lovely shot - love the blury library. Probably all sorts of great scientific works in there but I'm glad that you focussed on Winnie the Pooh - the worlds greatest philosopher obviously
Love the foreground - and the background. It's so frustrating when I can't get to what I want to shoot - but then you found a beautiful image all the same!
Total favorite. I'm amazed by the way those dainty little crocus hold their own importance against the imposing walls of the Wren Library. And what a treasure is held within those walls with Milne's manuscripts. Fabulous shot, Judith!! I hope that Nigel is feeling better soon. Those sinus infections are horrid. Has he ever tried using a Neti pot to help clear things out? I swear by them.
@judithg It's a rather obnoxious procedure to adjust to...but as one who has had my share of sinusitis I gave it a shot and found the results to be amazing. I've not had a sinus issue in years...first sign of trouble and out comes the Neti pot. :)
I'm enjoying crocuses more than ever this year due to 365, I'm noticing them everywhere and all the different types, these are particularly pretty. I like the out of focus library in the background.
