In the tea garden

My friend and I walked Monty over to Granchester Tea Gardens for lunch. Another idyllic, spring day and quite a lot of people had had the same idea. Monty behaved extremely well in exchange for a morsel of scone with jam and clotted cream and we had a relaxing time, much needed by my friend who is a very hard-working midwife. This chap looked over to see what I was up to but I think he was persuaded that I was taking blossom.
such dainty flowers.... great DOF!

I can behave very well for a morsel of scone with jam and clotted cream. I would run and fetch it, too if I could eat it all! Pretty shot - nice place for lunch.

@meisen325 LOL - it was gorgeous!!

Judith, I'd just like to add that, like Monica, I would also behave extremely well in exchange for a morsel of scone with jam and clotted cream... what a wonderful day!

I miss Grantchester, especially when the weather is this nice. It's now almost a year since I came over. Sniff! Beautiful composition and choice of focus. I also really like the way the blossoms frame the man in the background.

@meisen325 Ha!
Grandchester sounds like a made up town from a cheap thriller

Great composition. Looks like a glorious day. Boy do I remember the exhaustion from when I was a midwife. My heart and love go out to your friend. Such an amazing experience of being blessed to be a part of miracle after miracle, but exhausting to the bone

March 23rd, 2012
@judithg ..yeah, more Morse
March 23rd, 2012
@sleepdozer57 ha ha given the pretty blossom and the cream tea I'll go rosemary and thyme :-)
March 23rd, 2012
@sleepdozer57 @judithg @sleepdozer57 no murders, but lots of spies..
Great shot!
March 23rd, 2012
@fueast @sleepdozer57 @lauralatham We're not as sad as Rosemary & Thyme! If we're going to have to have a murder I'm pitching for Dorothy L Sayers. But it's more likely to be a poetry/philosophy think off. Don't mention the spies!!

Great shot of pretty flowers and love the background.

Good old Monty, amazing when dogs know there is food to be had !!! I visited Granchester once & thought it a very pretty place, Jeffry Archer lives there doesn't he ? I remember peering in the gates trying to see if I could get a glimpse !! Lovely blossom picture & soft back focus gives it a very old fashioned look !
March 23rd, 2012
Or even Jeffery !
March 23rd, 2012
What a really pretty capture! =)

@happypat Yes next door and owns shares in the Tea Garden. They open their garden in June and he's usually there selling programmes and honey and stuff. I'll have to try and go again this year to take a few shots - maybe his writing pavilion opened by Mrs T before she was PM - they used to have big parties there with the Tory grandees who were on the ascendancy - sounds like a bit of a nightmare!!
