Rachel came dog walking with me again this morning. Monty is in heaven when she comes - she has an amazing throwing arm from her cricket days! In the morning after a sunny evening Jesus Green is covered in litter. I could get started on the subject but you have other photos to view.... I really wanted to take a specific photo to match an autumn one but the sky was grey so I'm going to hang on till tomorrow and hope the sky is blue. These bottles were on the riverbank by the punt station - a whole bottle of port drained - I imagine they felt a bit wonky by the time it was finished...
This is edited in Picnik in Google+ - the pictures end up tiny afterwards - I'm sure there must be a different way of saving the photos but I haven't found it yet....
Oh I'm disappointed, I thought you'd been partying. Good to know its not just Leeds scuzzers that litter up the parks. grr. Good point made and nice angle. Bit wonky mind you.
I think I can see Montys reflection! I love the light on these bottles& the blur of the punt behind.
Litter !!! I am about to write to a school on the way into Blackpool whose sports field is a disgrace, bottles, paper cups & waste paper all over..how can we expect them to be tidy when they are allowed to tip litter in the field !!
@happypat That's alright - you saved me some typing!! That's terrible about the field. It's a perfect punishment to send kids out litter picking and they should be putting it in bins in the first place! I passed a load of French teenagers eating their lunch in the park yesterday - they'd gone when I got back but their lunch remnants were all over - Monty tidied up various bits of sandwich!
great angle, colours and reflections - I've worked in schools where those caught littering or graffiti-ing have had to spend their breaks in "community service" picking litter or washing walls - but other schools allow the parents to say that little Johnny (sorry John) is not going to be humiliated like this. @happypat
@shanne To be fair I think the school facilities are used by others in the wider community as it's what they call a sports academy but still a good opportunity to teach about littering ! How they can walk around amongst all that litter any way amazes me ! Thank for your comment Shanne !
great focus and composition - our dog will be looking forward to me going home next weekend - I am the one who plays mad games with her...she won't chase a ball tho! was a funny old day weather wise...reminds me, I must go to the bottle bank soon!
Well, I guess at least it's not just the ugly Americans that litter. Even in the school where I work, that the kids just drop stuff on the floor for the custodians to clean up...I love to catch them and make them pick up. Education is not all in books.
@tsingtao@richardshears Port makes me sick as a dog and the earth spins something rotten (even after a very small amount) so the thought of a whole bottle....
@joannapayne That's alright I've got lazy in my 'blurb'! I had an idea that Rachael H-F was a bit older than me but she's actually a lot older - just shows that she had a long career. My Rachel gave up at county level and now sticks to karate but she can throw miles!

Oh, and I SO agree about the litter. Big GRRRR.
Nice pic.
