Big fail on the Olympic Torch yesterday. Nigel and Rachel's part in proceedings was rained off sadly and then the crowds were so huge that we saw the flame but not the carrier! Sunday morning's efforts to see it heading out of town were one minute too late despite Monty doing his best and getting me out of bed early. So I'm going with a filler from Wimbledon 2010. Venus Williams who won the doubles with Serena. A good day for the American ladies - hoping for great things from the Scottish boy this afternoon! (This posting a day late makes writing the blurb rally tricky!) I realise this looks a bit odd - the crowd was very distracting so Adam added a motion blur for me - we weren't very Photoshop proficient in those days!)
Love this effect Judith , you can really get the feel of her speed across the court.! Yes good luck to Andy Murray, I hope he can keep himself together & not lose concentration,we will be watching it all. Silverstone too today, Harry will be bobbing from one to the other ..I think I might watch in another room!!!!
Well it was a darn shame about Nigel & Rachels efforts all wasted yesterday, they will have put in a fair bit of thought about the event all in vain. This weather has much to answer for & then you missed the runner too but saw the torch which was the main bit really. Monty probably saw more of the runner than you between peoples legs!
Excellent shot of the action in 2010! I have a front row seat for the exciting Murray/Federer match. It's breakfast at Wimbledon for me...although with blueberries rather than strawberries as I didn't make it to the market yesterday. Didn't want to miss any of yesterday's tennis action.
So sorry the rain is creating such issues for you. Wish we could mix up our weather a bit...scorching heat and very dry over here. :(
Cool action shot of Venus Williams! I used to watch a lot of tennis when I was younger, but never made it to Wimbledon!
So sorry the Olympic Torch was such a disappointment! The weather seems to be ruining everything this year! :-/
@fueast TBH I don't normally bother with tennis before set three but I think I may make an exception today! I needed to be Wiggo to catch up with the Olympic flame this morning....
It is almost a bit nauseating but simultaneously fabulous. What a terrific action shot. You almost feel as if you are inside her as she stretches for the hit
