Bit of a rubbish photo but considering that she's had a general anaesthetic Rafiki is super fidgety except when eating. I took her to the vet first thing and they knocked her out and removed a 6 inch piece of grass from behind her soft palate. She's not at all grateful for the £100 she's just cost me either - she's very grumpy because she isn't allowed out and food is restricted. Ho hum - lovely to see her NOT retching anyway!
Ah what a relief for you & she must have had a fright poor girl. A very unusual occurrence surely , I have never heard of that before!!! They do cost us these animals but you can do no less for them.. Rather sweet paw photo!
@fueast@happypat Grass is the bane of our lives what with seeds in the dog's paw and this is the SECOND time she's done this Pat! The first time was Pampas Grass which is razor sharp and was truly hideous. Do you think she'll learn? Nope.
@jgpittenger Well she's learnt that if she knocks the jar of peanut butter off the kitchen counter enough times I'll give in and give her the treats she's after - but not eating grass - I doubt it!
Fabulous shot of poor Rafiki's sweet little injected paw. Who knew grass could cause such an issue...and expense. :( Hope your buddy is feeling much better after a good night's sleep.
Or keep her inside. Haha. My Abby was a stray that we rescued, and because she has feline immuno-deficiency virus, she is not allowed outside. Nor are we allowed to bring any other cats in. I call her my "prisoner". Hope Rafiki recovers quickly and forgives you and forgets grass.
Oh my, that must have felt terrible. It's really too bad you can't explain to animals that you mean well by taking them to the vet. I'm glad she's all better now but 100 pounds really is a steep sum for that.
what an ordeal! I'm sure she'll be back to her usual self in no time. She may not seem to be happy now but I'll be she'll show you her love in other ways once she's over her bit of trauma from it all
what a set of bumbling beasts. cute shot judith.
