I'm sending a metaphorical 'good cup of tea' to our Sandy-afflicted friends. I imagine that everybody is short of sleep and in need of refreshment after last night's shenanigans and a 'good cuppa' is the traditional English cure all. I know Canada is still getting a beating so fingers crossed up there.
These teapots are in the window of Harriet's Tea Shop. The tea shop is a recent addition to the city and I haven't tried it yet. Their afternoon tea apparently requires several days of advanced starvation as it appears to be vast.
Three good things:
1. I've heard from my very good friends in Annapolis - no power, no damage, no sleep - not a bad outcome.
2. My mum, sister and nieces have gone to Brussels and all appears to be calm in that direction.
3. It seems Adam is half blind but we are pleased with the new optician and there is a sports specialist there so he should be able to see the hockey balls winging towards him soon - it will be interesting to see if his play gets better or worse!
It is a dreadful situation for the people affected by the horrific storm , a nice thought Judith I am sure there must be a lot of them who would love a nice cuppa. Btw sorry to hear Adams eye sight is not good , its amazing what can be done . I do hope he will be ok
Lovely idea your virtual tea party Judith! Wouldn't that be a great party? I
Iike tea but never personally use a teapot for myself as I drink my tea straight away when it's very hot. Even out of a tea pot it goes too cold for me to enjoy!
Poor Adam he will have to wear lenses if he plays lots of sports perhaps. My youngest son had his eyes lasered a month before he got married & it was the best thing he ever did so that might be an option when he is older.
I love to see different teapots like this! I do agree with @happypat , Pat, that the tea gets cooler in the pot even if you heat it up first! But as an experience, it can't be beaten!
Love the shot and the sentiment, Judith. Glad to hear your friends are ok in Annapolis. We are still cooped up at home but thankfully we have power so nice and warm in here. Raining still and raw outside.
I love these quirky tea-pots. I was in Cambridge today and tried to emulate some of your street shots. I did get a few but have ended up posting buildings as usual!
I love to look at teapots. My mother-in-law had a wonderful collection - and used them all. Quite whimsical ones. It was sad to see them go in the estate sale.
Cool shot. Yikes re Adam. Jim didn't figure out until high school that the reason he couldn't catch the baseballs was that he couldn't see. Make a fabulous difference when it got figured out and he got glasses
What a sweet gesture :). I was shocked to hear the news. Even though they expected the storm to be that big I still didn't imagine it would cause so much damage in a well-prepared city... Good luck to Adam with his newlyfound vision!
