I must admit that I didn't pay proper attention to photos today as I had an evening walk with a friend planned until it started to rain quite steadily and she suggested a postponement. So - emergency hyacinths - they won't be around much longer as Nigel has announced that they smell too strong!
I am aware that I'm not keeping up with commenting just at the moment - and I'm about to tackle an ironing mountain so that we can get in the spare room tomorrow night AND mum and dad are coming so I won't be able to spend too much time until Sunday... Sorry and I do appreciate your comments and will catch up ASAP.
Three good things:
1. Mum and dad visiting for a couple of days.
2. Galaxy chocolate - unfortunately I ate a whole bar I bought for Adam before I'd even left the supermarket car park (you know what I said about those two pounds?)
3. I've scrubbed the house and burned off a chunk of Galaxy...
@tishpics@jennywren Thanks for the vase comment - I painted it when I took the kids to one of those pottery painting places. They've closed it down which is really sad as I used to drag one or other child over there on a wet Sunday afternoon (although there's only so much amateur-painted pottery a house can accommodate!)
i have just eaten a whole chunk of Galaxy cookie crumble...delicious! Beautiful hyacinths but as they get older the smell...no not smell...scent increases but I think it's lovely. They look very pretty in your lovely hand painted vase.
Enjoy your family week end.
I love the fragrance of these flowers , a lovely picture. Hope you have a nice weekend with your parents . Hope they enjoy the stew , I have got to put ours in the fridge now it has cooled .
I know what your husband means, but I do love the smell, it's just a tad overpowering sometimes! Same with lilies ...... Hope you have a good weekend with your parents......
I just love your focus and the crop. I always buy myself something for the car journey home when I go to the supermarket but usually make it across the car park LOL
I know what you mean about the chocs. I'm busy eating my my way through a (large) bag of mini eggs! I love how these disappear into mistiness round the edges. I'm taking a short break from posting so you won't see me around much this month. It's such a big commitment, and I need time forr other things.
Love your hand painted vase, love the fact you can eat a whole bar of galaxy at one standing, so thats enough for one fav!! and a lovely weekend for you and family and glorious pic.....enough said!!
The vase is lovely, your artistic eye translates to pottery painting too. That's a terrific still life showing off the hyacinth colors.
I buy the tiny pots with one stalk growing in them, so I can but another one every two weeks and not feel too extravagant. The scent usually isn't overpowering with just one.
great shot - too much rain about to go outside! LOL to the chocolate - and I've been absent for over a week so hadn't noticed you're slacking!! :o) have a great weekend.
Enjoy your family week end.
