I got bicycle bell envy when I saw this enormous shiny model yesterday. Great St Mary's, the official centre of Cambridge from which residency requirements for the university are measured, is looking a little less imposing than usual here.
Poor Monty has been knocked out today so that the vet nurse could shave away the clumps of fur between his toes that I thought were making him limp. She said that it wasn't those as such but his allergies playing up which have left his feet sweaty and raw with a major yeast infection. They look horribly sore, poor fellow, so I'm really glad that I got it done before we embark on any long summer walks. I just hope that once they are healed up he will let us near enough to keep the fur shorn off.
Four good things:
1. My first little reader came dashing up to get the gossip on who is reading now and what stickers I have organised for them.
2. Long overdue sorting out of hall coat hooks etc ahead of the decorators coming.
3. Delicious Thai for tea and I thought to cook the purple sprouting broccoli separately so that we didn't have to eat blue curry.
3. I found a stray jelly baby in the snack cupboard which is helping to satisfy my sweet tooth (not that my diet is leading to any weight loss...)
I love the bendy fence bit. Poor Monty, I wouldn't have thought they could get yeast in their toes! I better watch Baxter and his sweaty feet then.
I cleaned out my hall coat closet today too...great minds :)
What a brilliant shot Judith, Cambridge through a bicycle bell, and a shiny one at that! Poor monty athletes feet in a dog, perhaps you should try standing him in some natural yoghurt! Fav btw
@lucypics Good thinking - I was wondering why they hadn't suggested powder but probably not great licked. Kennel cough vaccine and about to get wormed as well - no wonder he's crashed out under the table.
That bell has seen it all... Snack cupboard? A whole cupboard? There's your problem. Still no photos from me. Went clubbing at the weekend and have been a wreck ever since.
@fueast Well you need to think about your advancing years.... That snack cupboard is indeed my nemesis, so is the fridge and to a lesser extent the freezer (but only lesser because I've finished the homemade chocolate ice cream).
Its amazing how weighed down with coats that you don't use so much but feel you can't throw out!
Sweaty feet Monty I suppose even dogs like a pedicure...really hope it does the trick Judith....an unhappy dog is not a good thing!!
Clever reflection in that snazzy bell, you must have looked odd bending over someones bike like that!1
Diet has gone hay wire here too very soul destroying when the weight stays the same even after starvation diet!! Was awake all night so went down stairs twice for food!!!
This is a lovely shot. Poor old Monty. Our dog goes for you if you touch her feet. It's wierd how much they hate it isn't it? And isnt the kennel cough vaccine the horrid one that they squirt up the nose, our dog was traumatised the only time she had that. Mind you she is a bit of a nutter.
We have got a coat rack that you have to wrestle with to get anything onto it. I am sure there are coats on there from when the kids were 6. Wonder how long hat jelly baby had been lurking in the cupboard.
That's an unusual bike shot - after so many of them, you still manage to be creative. Wonderful :)! Great job on your little reader to get him so excited! Give poor Monty a cuddle from me!
Marvelous capture in chrome! It does bring the imposing structure down to a less intimidating size. Well spotted! You have a way of getting the most out of a bike with your camera. :)
Bless Monty's heart...wishing him well in his foot recovery! I have a friend whose Lab is allergic to grass...they have an awful time keeping his allergies in check...very hard for a dog to avoid grass.
I'm so impressed with your Thai cooking skills...when you said Thai for tea I assumed you went to a Thai restaurant. Good for you for keeping the purple broccoli separated...makes for a much more pleasing presentation. :)
This is a fab reflection!

Dieting is the pits - don't do it! If it worked there wouldn't be a trazillion dollar industry in it.
