Poor Monty - I take him down to the river and then stand for ages staring into space (as far as he's concerned) trying to take photos of dragonflies on the move. This is the first and the best of the lot as it happens so we could have cracked straight on with the walk. Nigel and I finally braced ourselves for the hell that is Ikea on a weekend yesterday and luckily it was a very worthwhile trip - all I have to do now is attempt to order all of the relevant bits and pieces.
Three GT:
1. Ikea home delivery (I hope that's a good thing).
2. 'Special' cream from the Poochie Parlour seems to be sorting out the self-inflicted wounds caused by frantic doggy scratching - vet tomorrow to find the cause.
3. One more Monday lie in.
Looks like you caught this beauty in a shaft of sunlight...a perfect position to catch those lovely colours.
Ikea is an experience I vaguely remember as I have only been inside once but as far as rememberer I enjoyed it!!!
Fave btw.
Beautiful capture! I love his wings in motion. Ikea on a weekend is only for the very brave or the very desperate. I've discovered most Ikea products cannot be put together by one person. Good luck!
Wow this is brilliant, love the movement in the wings and the little face. A friend of mine has problems with her dog scratching and it is down to field mites (cant say I have encountered any myself) her dog has made his feet very sore from biting them.
@lucypics Somebody on FB has just suggested harvest mites (presumably the same thing?) - hard to see in his dark fur but I'll try and have a proper look in his white bits.
strange how the first shot we do of a series of shots is usually the best .... maybe it hankers back to the days of film when we were careful with what we shot ...anyway great dragonfly judith
Oh so well done!!! Right spot right time and right focus and right shutter speed, etc etc. A definite winner shot. And even seeing it I wonder how they stay aloft!
That's a beautiful shot! And, yes, that happens to me a lot, too....the first one, or at least the early ones seem to be the charm! Love dragonflies...hope your poochie is feeling better....and, yes, IKEA home delivery is definitely worth it if you have a lot of heavy stuff!
