They're back... by judithg

They're back...

...and it seems that some of them need to get a room (may need to view large). But we love them really - Cambridge wouldn't be Cambridge without the students.
A very quick upload as I'm off to a governors' meeting. I took this on my town walk yesterday - I went down by the river again today and watched a lovely kingfisher flying relatively slowly upstream.
Three GT:
1. My 365 friends
2. Balmy October days
3. Students - the little darlings ;0)
So late? No wonder they're feeling warm and fuzzy after such a long summer.... Wonder if you'd like them so much if you'd stayed on to teach them!

True it would be a much nicer place

Oh Judith, where's the kingfisher? ( It's my photographic dream to capture one!!) Maybe he's for tomorrow......... Tranquil scene!

I wish the kingfishers around here would fly more slowly and give me a bit of warning when they are there! Lovely capture especially against the lovely blue skies. Nice composition

Lovely shot - and I love that expression "get a room", I'm always reminded of it when I walk past the Italian teenage students in the V&A.

Jo
Thanks to your little tour I feel I know Cambridge just a bit, and every now and again I think I recognize somewhere, lovely shot and a perfect day.

I like the composition with a glimpse of river in the foreground and that backdrop of sky....

The late sun and those surroundings might even tempt me!

Love is in the air. And I love this shot. I hope those students fully appreciate attending school in such a iconic location. I'll appreciate it for them just in case they don't. :)

@quietpurplehaze I took a very fuzzy photo of one in a tree once - I was excited about that - no idea how people get them in action...

LOL I agree about getting a room. Great capture, Judith. I love the little pop of red in there, too.

All that beauty and virginia creeper too! Do you ever get blase about living there? We've got to bring our son up some time soon to get a feel of the place - he's looking at Oxford but ought to see both.
October 8th, 2013
@taz_o No I never get blasé. Good to see both places - there are significant differences in the way they organise their courses.

Love the line of red leaves heading over the edge. Cambridge is just so photogenic. :)

@stimuloog Yes - two colleges - Trinity Hall and Clare.

A beautifully composed shot and love the couple kissing in the corner. You are very lucky to have such beautiful buildings around you all the time.

Fabulous architecture and the scene is all the better for having a few students milling around.

I know this place! It's a great spot on Saturdays because you can get shots of hapless punters falling into the river! Beautiful college in the background, too

A lovely dreamy (steamy) scene!

The couple on the left appear to be more interested in something other than academics :) Beautiful scene, love the red cascading over the retaining wall.
