'They' haven't cut the grass on The Backs and it has gone daisytastic. I was very hampered by wandering, woofing dog but managed to get the target in frame in the end - may have ruined it by over-processing now though. I was waiting for Nigel to bring a heavy bag of compost down to the greenhouse this afternoon and made good use of the old armchair - joined inevitably by dog and cat - to have a tiny snooze (too late to blame jetlag?) Anyway I was woken up by a bang which turned out to be a big branch falling off the neighbour's apple tree. Luckily the fence took the brunt - a foot nearer and it would have been right through the greenhouse glass above my chair.
Three GT:
1. There are no other branches above the greenhouse (well not big ones).
2. Jamie's 15 Minute Meals - I've been cooking from it all week and only minor complaints from the recipients - they take me about half an hour which is fine and have lots of hidden veg.
3. Being able to afford food - having two highly active late teens in the house all day has laid the cupboards bare - we are lucky that I can go out and refill even if I am muttering about the cost, when many families cannot. I am going to get Rachel 'A Girl Called Jack' cookbook for uni - it's by a food poverty blogger, Jack Monroe and she does lots of low cost recipes.
While I was in Sainsburys today I saw a student card you could load up with funds so they can actually feed themselves while away from home....not sure if it would work like it should do or be used for beer of cakes!
Always wondered why daisies are called weeds!
The branch nearly got you ......is this the guy with the new office...hope he was looking out of the window!
@happypat No it was the old boy on the other side - I don't suppose he's been down there in a while. He keeps frightening me my walking to the shops. He doesn't take a stick and he needs to hold on to garden walls and hedges. It's a nightmare when he has to cross driveways and a side road. I find myself loitering in the front garden as he won't let me help him. I'll have to have a word with his daughters or son - they visit very regularly and are increasingly stressed I think! Rachel has money for food but can't be bothered as the term goes on - she said she ate bread for 3 weeks....
fav-a licious ! Now, since I have been shooting for 365, mowed grass is SO BORING! I love the wild flowers, weeds, and bugs in a less "well kept" lawn.
Beautiful image....great DOF!!! There is so much going on here with the campus architecture, and that lovely girl sitting off center, and the daisies are just delicious!! Love it!
Absolutely gorgeous, lovely processing and just right. My ocado delivery arrived today in time for lunch and my locusts fell on it before it was put away!! Fav
Lovely to see this scene again! Last year you focused on those blue flowers so its great to see that there are different flowers allowed to grow on this lovely lawn - and that they all flower at the same time!
I love this. Fav
Jamie is a favourite in our house. I also like his Save with Jamie book and I like the way his latest books are all healthy and calorie counted. I've never heard of Jack Monroe but I've just checked out her blog and I may have to try some of her recipes.
I might have to get 15 minute meals. Quick + veg both sound good. Our meal-planning's gone up the spout with us both hitting busy patches at once and we are eating some TERRIBLE rubbish. We'll get scurvy if we carry on at this rate.
Well I'm liking the processing. Have Jamie's 15 min dinners but haven't tried anything yet, they all seem to involve using a food processor which I haven't got.
@boxplayer@jewelsandbinoculars I had a small moulinex and never used it until Jamie's 15 Minutes came along. Can't decide whether to 'go large' now or just manage till the kids leave home!

Undeniable fav. Great overrprocessing!
