Can't think of a witty title. I promise I will go in to town or somewhere that has no fowl tomorrow. I also have a photo of some baby cootes - they are like little aliens - may put them in Extras. This morning I went to visit a friend who's had surgery and she managed a little walk - it was great having the birds come up to us and/or not run away - took me a moment to realise it was because I didn't have the mutt in tow. I dashed back and went to do some governor duties and am now finally getting down to my real job.
Three GT:
1. Saw Nigel for an hour when he called in for a change of clothes.
2. Took some nice family photos for my friends.
3. Monty inadvertently killed the mouse that Rafiki was playing with - at least I think he did as I can't actually find it. I have locked the cat flap so we don't get any extra guests as I suspect she'll have found a nest. Honestly - Nigel had only just hit the A14 when a whole load of woofing alerted me to the murine encounter.
Sometimes we are just drawn to what really pleases us.... I can't help myself with a flower! This is such a calm and serene photo and I agree with Lisa about the tones.
Great shot. I like all the negative space and the contrast between light and dark in the water. I just had to look up the word 'murine'. I shall have to remember that one - it could be useful for scrabble.
Really love a lot about this. Baby coots are wonderfully 'odd' aren't they? Are you sure that Nigel didn't lock the cat flap until just before he left?
I'd love to see the babies coots. Even the adults are sort of strange looking, so bring on the babies! I like the way the grebe is gazing off across the water as if he's planning his day.
This shot has incredible definition Judith....sparkly & vivid but with a subtle look there. Your coot is rarer sharp in profile......a sort of mesmerising image.
Murine is a new word for me! I shall sit on it for a while while I think about it!. This chappie has a nice perky look about him - must be a crested grebe.
Adoe this shot Judith with its contrast of light, clarity and composition. Glad the kangaroo story was useful. I sometimes feel I waffle on too much. But that's me. I like to chat.
