Struggling for a shot today as half the afternoon was taken up at John Lewis having a 'kitchen' consultation for the utility room. Not quite what I expected as they've very recently stopped doing rough designs and quotations and basically what you have to do is go in and choose your kitchen range and appliances and book in the kitchen designer. The trouble is that you end up having to chose your kitchen style without having a clue about cost. I came home and studied the inadequate price list (she couldn't give me the relevant brochure) with my own temporary design to give me at least an idea as it's £50 for the designer and you can't then decide to switch to a different range.
Anyway I then nipped home and collected Nigel and we went back in to town to meet Adam for pizza ahead of '1984' at The Arts Theatre. I got really good 3rd row seats because bizarrely they were almost the only ones left and we were right in the flash bang action. Thoroughly enjoyable despite the constant fear of heart attack and/or epilepsy. Maybe the tension added to the whole experience.
John. Lewis not coming up to scratch for once....go somewhere else! My idea of luxery having the utility properly fitted , not like mine with a grotty selection of odd cupboards & left over fittings.
Lovey autumn feel......perfect with the rotten fruit & the lichen.
@happypat I think you can edit can't you? Must check! Yeah - debating at the moment whether to carry on or go down the idea route. It's been Nigel's MDF cobbled together best effort since 2002!
@happypat no you're right - you can only delete - sometimes I copy, delete and then paste it back in and edit again - if it's really unintelligible! Yes - I wouldn't mind going the flat pack route though it would actually be useful to get a professional view - maybe I'll pay £50 for the design and then go to IKEA!
very autumnal judith. @judithg@happypat Pat / Judith, i really like John Lewis / Waitrose. I have a John Lewis Mastercard (1% back in vouchers on purchases in JL, 0.5% elsewhere), A My John Lewis membership (free coffee and cake several times a year) and a MyWaitrose Card (free coffee every day in a Waitrose store) !!! Highly recommended
Thanks for the review of 1984, I quite fancy seeing it. I went to see Gone Girl last week and wasn't impressed - a bit too much of a psychological thriller for me and all too far-fetched. Not as very satisfying ending either. Anyway, I like your picture. I was reading Netkonnexion's tips the other day and he said to look for a new angle on something simple or different lighting or texture. I think you've done exactly that.
This really screams autumn - very nice :). Love the lighting, too. I'm not sure I'd dare to see 1984 on stage, it already scared me so much as a book... I did see "Misery" by Steven King once and survived though.
