I set the alarm early to take Adam in to school for a 7.30 am hockey game but when I saw that the promised fog hadn't materialised I retreated back to bed and let him get the bus. The piano removers arrived on time and were very nice and efficient and made it plain that they believe you should play a piano if you're lucky enough to have one. Later in the morning while waiting for the accountant to get back to his office and sort out my incompetent filing I nipped out to do an exciting round robin of dry cleaner, plumbing supplies and paint shop. Weirdly it was mistier then than first thing and a little sun breaking through illuminated the leaves that are hanging on gamely so late in to November. So I pulled over, stuck my iPhone out of the window and took a couple of shots of King's College.
Then I nipped out to see our piano in situ at my friend's house. It looks very fine and the nice removal men avoided squashing her toddler so that was a plus. Returned to a phone call from the school nurse (a mercifully rare event in Adam's school career) to find that he's been cracked on the thumb joint by a hockey ball. Right hand so could be a complete pain (well already a physical pain according to Adam) and we have fingers (but not thumbs!) crossed that she's right and it isn't broken.
Well quite a day Judith! Poor Adam, hope he is OK, could be quite a problem if broken! Love the account of your busy day but I bet you felt bad turning him onto the bus after his accident! He hasn't had a good day either! Beautiful Backs...love the touches of red....I saw some great misty late afternoon sky driving back from Clitheroe this afternoon but impossible to stop mid drive.
Lovely Autumn scene. We finally lost our Northern Lingering Sunshine.
