Oh my word - what an afternoon! I have fantasised every year about posting a photo of the choristers at King's but, even assuming I somehow mysteriously got a ticket that got me anywhere near the choir (impossible), I wouldn't be able to take any photos. What I needed was Steve @stevecameras and a BBC pass! This is a rehearsal for tomorrow and they were recording so I couldn't mess around with settings as much as I needed to but I did manage to knock off a few shots in focus and correctly exposed. And of course it has to be heard to be believed. The sound these boys make really is Heavenly. And just to add to my fantasy afternoon - we went on the roof - see Extras. And do check out Steve's shots because he knows what he's doing and they are stunning. http://365project.org/stevecameras/365/2014-12-12
Oh you lucky girl! I guess they're rehearsing for the Christmas Eve concert - or is that live on the day? Yes I would dearly love to get a ticket to the event but I think It''s not going to happen!
Just beautiful. Do they sometimes do recordings for Christmas in summer? I'm sure there was recording going on for something happening at Christmas and we were there in July a few years ago!
A beautiful capture. I read the Three Kings lesson at the televised version when I was a postgrad - really scary and I couldn't believe how many hours we had to practise. I also stewarded a couple of times for the Christmas Eve broadcast which was so amazing, having always heard the programme with my mother as a little girl.
