Heading out to Barrington for today's photo, I noticed many really nice reflections of houses and docks along the far shore of the Barrington River. Since I'm saving those shots for when I pickup a new longer focus lens, I opted instead to head over to the Barrington Senior Center for a shot of the gazebo you see in today's photo. There are usually really nice reflections in this small pond, and I thought today would be a good opportunity to shoot it. Well, the first vantage point I used turned out to be not so great. There was a thin layer of broken ice on the water, and it wasn't producing the vivid reflections I wanted. I took a few shots, but wasn't really satisfied, so I decided to go in search of another photo. Back in the car, I turned around in a driveway and headed back to Rte 114, and that's when I spotted the gazebo from the vantage point in today's photo. This section of water was devoid of ice and the reflections were vivid. It was a bit of serendipity that produced the photo I wanted in the first place.
Post processing once again started out in Topaz Adjust. I added a spicefy filter which really drew out the colors and intensified the reflections. Back in Photoshop I applied a Darken Color blend of a Poster Edges filter. This did a nice job of highlighting all the lines in the photo. A heavy sandstone texture was added to that, and I then drew down the saturation to soften the colors a bit. A levels adjustment and a warming filter completed the photo.
