Quahog Festival by kannafoot

Quahog Festival

I stopped by the Warren Quahog Festival this afternoon for some photos. The line of seafood booths provided ample opportunity, and I really liked this booth with their shrimp and little neck (small clams) offerings in full view. Both are traditional Rhode Island seafood dishes. The shrimp is cooked and served with a spicy red cocktail sauce to which we'll add either a hot sauce or some horse radish. The little necks, however, are served raw. A native Rhode Islander will squeeze a bit of lemon onto the clam and then down it raw, right out of the shell. Think of it as Ocean State Sushi. That's also how we eat oysters. Quahogs, on the other hand, are typically stuffed and then baked. (Rhode Islanders call them "Stuffies.")

Post processing started with a brilliant cold filter in Topaz Adjust. I adjusted adaptive exposure, contrast, protect highlights, details, and adaptive saturation. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
