Hooded Plover Gang - Kitty Miller Bay, Phillip Island
I saw a movement out of the corner of my eye and started shooting the blur of white before I really registered what it was, these little birds were tricky to shoot, but I enjoyed trying.
I watched them fossicking along the rock platform these sweet little birds now a vulnerable species in the area due to human disturbance of beaches and being hunted by cats, dogs and foxes. They are listed as endangered in Victoria
We have two species of plovers that are endangered here in Canada - piping and mountain. Great composition...my eye goes right to the upper right corner, and that bird there looks pretty sharp. Soft focus on rest is great to indicate movt, in my opinion.
