This was the view from my waterfront motel room in Meningie SA, the water was rough and the skies stormy, the views wonderful, I took photos of flotillas of pelicans swimming past my window.
Automatic fav. This is an amazing capture. Love the repetition, and the beautiy of the outstretched wings and the B and W against the brown, muddy water.

Oh I know that Motel... I do like it when the Birds come to you as opposed to having to hike to find them! Did you go through Poltaloch and Narrung to get to Meningie???
December 11th, 2011
@bobfoto sadly no, I came through from Wilpena Pound, down through Clare, Glawler then Murray Bridge and Tailem Bend. From Meningie I went onto Kingston and Robe, then to Bool Lagoon and Naracoorte

Haha .. What a great shot

@lbmcshutter Just North of Meningie, just after you leave the Bend, take a right that takes you through Poltaloch and Narrung (Aboriginal Community and they operate the ferry) and you will get back to Meningie.... Its a long way around, but you get some wonderful views of Lake Alexandrina and you get to see Poltaloch, quite possibly Australia's cutest, oddest, bizarrest and sweetest little town.

There is something magical about a pelican. I found them irresistable to watch when we were in Cairns. great shot.
