Pakistan truck art part III - note inside the cargo area is also decorated
I think this is a great example of the wonderful truck art. Sometimes on the roads I'd see trucks where the boards above the tail gate had been put back out of order and the picture would be scrambled.I love that eve the hub caps are painted.
@bobfoto I think it is Shaheen - Pakistan's ballistic missile series, capable of delivering a nuclear or traditional payload, used in Pakistan's nuclear tests in May 1998. It is a symbol of nationalism
Whoop, missiles and flowers, that's what I'd decorate me car with to be honest if I had the time. Is this a kind of passenger transport or literally a cargo carrying truck? Super find.
This utterly fascinating...and they are so very artistic. What is the story behind these art-houses on wheels?? It looks like such a lot of effort; why do they do it?? Is there any advertising on them? Always curious, Les x
@glimpses most trucks I saw were decorated like this, I cannot recall seeing any advertising on them, just religious, social. cultural and political themes in the art. I read that it dates to the colonial times and people would decorate their horse carts and later buses in order to try to get business/attract passengers from the wealthier customers. It has carried on from there and many truck owners compete with each other to have the most attractively decorated vehicle.
