It was seem that most of the adult men here are fans of the Pollywood films (yesterdays photo), I base that assumption of the fine collection of moustaches. I love the expression on the young boys face. And that of the guard paying almost no attention.
This was one of those wonderful cultural fairs with performers and handicrafts form all over the country.
Musicians are to be found everywhere, if you had a party needing live music you could just go for a drive along a couple of the major roads and in the median strip would be a variety of bands, i their finery awaiting someone to come along and hire them for a job. In different sectors would be labourers many with their own tools also awaiting a days hire. Under the trees in the carparks of some of the shopping centres one could find a barber, complete with his barber's chair. You could take your chances and get some nasty disease along with the haircuts and a shave with a cutthroat razor.
Most alarming of all would be the roadside dentists. Many people could not afford a proper dentist, but could afford the roadside dental chair (probably the barbers chair) and the array of scary looking tools.
I was always more comfortable with the idea of the musicians, you could even get an impromptu performance as an audition.
Roadside dentists? oh dear, that sounds even scarier than the office dentist! What a fun photo though, looks very festive and I can almost hear the music seeing her dance.
Love the movement and colour - their hats and finery is wonderful! Seeing impromptu dancers and musicians sounds so much better than impromptu dentisty...! (Fingers crossed there's no shot of that tomorrow).
