Nanga Parbat from the air - another shot from the PIA air safari
In addition to seeing K2, we saw Nanga Parbat (literally means Naked Mountain) at 8126 meters is the 9th highest peak in the world. Rupal Face on the southern side is referred to as the highest mountain face in the world. As stated yesterday it was called the killer mountain in the first half of the 20th century, 16 climbers died on 14/15 June 1937 alone. There have been at least 60 climbers die since first recorded attempt in 1895, the most recent in 2009.
Seeing it by air was far simpler and quicker, it was a wonderful trip.
