In January this year I had email contact from an old boyfriend. He was my first love when I was 20, I'm not sure why it ended, perhaps I was just too immature for a serious relationship, all I know it was not bitter and I'd always had fond thoughts of him over the years. We'd had infrequent contact on and off over the years.
Last year his marriage ended and he moved from Australia to England. In January, our email contact intensified to several emails a day and we had a few phone calls. Long buried feelings came back to the surface and we wanted to start our relationship again. So I booked some leave and flights to the UK, and with a lot of trepidation, on 21 March boarded a series of planes, trains and automobiles to see if the relationship would translate to real life. It was scary and exciting. Luckily I had a back up plan and could go and stay with my aunt in Ireland if things didn't work out with him.
I arrived home again on 18 April and will catch up on the story of my trip over the next couple of weeks.
I was so tired after the flight home, over 24 hours of travelling to get to this point, Melbourne airport, around 7am, my flight to Canberra was about to board. I looked out the window to a magnificent sunrise and had to wander over to the windows with my camera for a few shots. I liked the other plane with the familiar flying kangaroo tail insignia visible. A symbol of home.
I guess the big question will be is this sunrise at the end of the journey the beginning of the story or the end?
To see the start of this story and the journey/holiday start at 22 March - nd over time I will be filling in the gaps
@filsie65 yes, I headed over to England - mostly in the SW (I don't think i ever went north of London) and as I try to sort through all my photos I will hopeful share the other places I went on my trip too
