Yellow Pattern 4 Revealed by olivetreeann

Yellow Pattern 4 Revealed

I know- it's not what you expected!! So, the question is: what DID I do to this shot to make it look the way it did? I may be a bit sketchy on it but here goes...

Why did I do it? I didn't want a dark shot as most of them have been rather high-key this month and I wanted to keep that consistency in my calendar view.

So what did I do? The first thing I did was choose a high-key effect which pretty much eliminated everything above and below the central section (I think it was called Albert Clock or something like that which I assume is named after a certain photographer who shoots mostly in high key- will have to research that some day!). I then played with the color to turn the orange/yellow into a more lemon/yellow. And lastly I added the mirror effect to turn the pattern into a leading line that drew you into the center of the picture. There may be a few more steps of sharpening and playing with the color in there, but it's been a few days and I forget!

Oh, yes, and what is it? It's the parking light on my new-to-me Sue-bee-ru!
brilliant. would not have guessed.

Thank you Nina, Katy, Janis, Sandi, Bill, Pyrrhula, Sally, Marilyn, Taffy, Nicole, and Diane! Glad you enjoyed the revelation. It's really quite amazing what you can do to a photograph. And now that I know even the basics of photo processing, I find myself recognizing when others have done it to their photos and then try to say the shot sooc!
