Broad-winged Hawk by olivetreeann

Broad-winged Hawk

I was washing up the breakfast dishes when this fellow swooped into the back yard. He just came to show off- no birds or squirrels were lost!
Nice profile shot of him - nice of him to come visit.

@milaniet He certainly was an impressive one- but so glad he didn't take out any of my little birds or critters! Thanks Milanie!

Thank you everyone! After almost 6 full days without electricity the lights came on this morning! No more 365 withdrawal but lots of catching up to do!

This is not the same hawk as the one who caught the squirrel. That was a Red-Tailed Hawk, this is a Broad-Winged Hawk. Jeff is an expert at telling them and a few others apart by sight. But I need a bird book!
