"that"

page 134, The Man Who Loved Books Too Much by Allison Hoover Bartlett

you better believe it! the word today is 'that'.

as in what is that little piece of thingamajiggsky lying by the train tracks?

that, my friends, is a piece of wood that blew off from somewhere and ended right there as i took this picture.

the sumacs are still beautiful this time of the year. they're quite hardy, when all the leaves of the other trees have fallen off, sumac still retain their leaves far into the winter. that's as far as i have observed them whilst i lived in the country several years ago.

problem tonight with uploading and commenting. very sorry, folks. i had to send my post via e-mail, for the first time. and that's the truth!
Beautiful shot Summerfield- sorry about the problems posting. So far so good for me! And a huge WAY TO GO on tackling the word 'that'. When I got a word like THAT in my challenge I just went on to the next one!

Sumac trees?? Is THAT where the spice sumac is from? Is THAT a really dumb question? I love THAT shot my friend, the colours, lines and THAT little piece of thingamebob!

Love tracks and sumac- nice combination. Love "that" thingy too.

@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. i had thought of that, in fact i was going to invoke the wild card thingy but i wasn't happy with anything i took yesterday. when i was looking at the photos i took for the 23rd and i saw this, what came out of my mouth was 'what the heck is that?' so, feeling guilty it's a rather "old" picture but it did the trick.

so there was a 365-wide problem last night apparently involving the button for Google +1 and internet explorer users were mostly affected. still not switching to firefox or other, had enough problems with those.

@danig - holy heavens, for all my culinary knowledge, i've never heard of sumac spice until now. i don't know, maybe. some sumacs are poisonous though - you know, like us, nice to look at but stay away, PMS lurks! hahaha! thank you, DG.

@steeler - why, thank you, howard. that's very kind of you.

@jannkc - thank you, jann. much appreciated.

what a lovely shot. and so happy to learn it was not ME for once having a brain fart day as everything i touched went wrong yesterday from the moment i got up to the time i went to bed. i am surprised i have any toes left on my feet from kicking the table legs in frustration. I-Google. we have a love/hate relationship. are you all packed and ready to leave now?
October 27th, 2011
@catsmeowb - hahahaha! so how many toes you still have? i had to laugh at that, camille. i haven't started packing but there's a corner in my bedroom you'd think is a trash pile but they're actually the things that i plan to put in the luggages. i don't leave here until the 8th. then it's a drive to fort erie then to buffalo international to get to san francisco to take the flight to manila! whew! that's tiring, isn't it? thank you, camille.

Wow! I don't think I'd have attempted to capture "that" in a photograph. Well done! Its a lovely picture too, even with that thingamajiggsky! lol!

October 27th, 2011
@sanera - yes, kind of hard to photograph 'that'. but i thought why not make this challenge more interesting than it is already. thanks, sam.

@danig - actually, mate, i've graduated from PMS! hahahahaha!
