my yellow tulips are on their last leg. as i survey if they should be discarded sooner or later, i note these two have their stems intertwined and the flowers are touching each other as if they're dancing the tango. but because they are almost wilting or dying, i have this vision of two lovers waiting for death (yeah, that's my morbid sense of humour bwahahaha!).
the colour yellow is also a good entry as the theme-yellow2 finishes today.
Hi I think your tag should be theme-yellow2 not theme_yellow2, just had a quick look at the theme shots and didn't find yours there? By the way love the bright yellow of the tulips.
They are pretty- even as they breathe their last. I've seen/known couples married over 50 years and these flowers remind me of them. No longer in the prime of life as far as the physical aspects go, but bound by love and a lifetime of knowing someone on a deeper level. Nice shot.
@samdan - two thank you's, lesley. you're so kind.
@sunnygreenwood - thank you, anne. i have been in canada for 23 years and i've never seen the tulips display in ottawa yet. i think this might be the year i go see it. been there different times of the year though.
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. there was a novel i read a long time ago where a couple in a war-torn europe were found dead embracing each other. i forgot which novel it was but that was the image that i recalled when i saw these two. my tulips are all wrinkling up but the stems are still firmly pointing up. i kind of like this shade of yellow.
@olivetreeann - holy camoley! i should find that book. i read that quite a while ago and i was just so fascinated by it. thank you, ann, especially for jogging my memory.
Yellow is way too happy to be thinking about death. But I like yr sense of humor my friend and love this shot! Just got my computer working so will email tomorrow. ;-)
