all that snow by summerfield

all that snow

the snow in this courtyard had been cleared for pedestrians. i had posted the street front of these two buildings in october (see http://365project.org/summerfield/365/2012-10-03 ). during good weather, this courtyard brims with workers from the offices of these buildings as well as neighbouring offices, especially during lunch hour.

it baffles me that the management of these buildings had to have 'fake' bare trees, about five of them, all over the courtyard when there are real bare trees around; all they need do is cover the bare branches with lights. i should remember to take a night shot of this place before the fake trees are felled down.

there was a wedding shoot taking place when i was there. you can see the bride and an older man talking, while the photographer wearing tan jacket is standing on the left. i hope to capture better 'snow' during the weekend if it's not too cold.

thank you for your views and comments; they are much appreciated.
Pretty snow. Maybe the fake trees already have the lights on them and they just put them out and plug them in. Less work.

Wow .. what a beauty of a photo my friend. I really loved taking it all in. Great architecture and the mural on the left is interesting as well as the "fake" tree! I want to get out and take night photos after we get some snow ... and this would be a great scene. I'm just too lazy and cold to do night scenes in the winter. Anyway I am liking this VERY much!

Oh, that poor bride, she must be frozen. Beautiful tree and cityscape, the snow just transforms it all!

@pamfromcalgary - i know. they could've just covered the trees beside it with lights. and they say they're trying to help the preserve the environment! thank you, pam.

We were driving through Batavia the other night and I saw a hotel that had put up fake palm trees and then decorated them with lights. Really? You can imagine how stupid that looked! Maybe they know the folks that manage these buildings are getting decorating tips from them. lol Fun shot for the absurdity of it.
