Taken a few days ago, but since I worked most of today, I barely had time to take any photos, and those I did take were (a) mundane and (b) had no potential for interest in b&w. So, to continue with b&w, I went with this hand-held shot, processed in Silver Efex to bring out the craters and shadows.

Fantastic detail! This is interesting. I have an app on my smartphone for tracking the moon phases. Normally in this part of the hemisphere as the moon is waxing gibbous the shadow line runs from 1 o'clock to 7 o'clock and as it progresses the line will bow to the right to give you the crescent shape. But his line goes from 2 o'clock to 8 o'clock. The other night the clouds finally allowed us to see a clear sky and this is how I saw the moon too. At first I thought this was unusual but didn't bother to check the app.
really nicely done... loads of fabulous detail and quite sharp looking! i've been meaning to take another run at a moon shot, but haven't had clear skies in days!
@sunraye Thanks Raye! Handheld I try to brace myself against something like a wall or railing, hold my camera up to my eye with my arms as stiff as i can hold then, take a breath and then press the shutter speed. The nice thing about moon shots, if you use spot metering, you can set the shutter at a pretty reasonable speed to avoid shakes.
