Thirteen Levels

Is the unofficial name of this abandoned copper mine and processing plant. Named so because from the ground you can see thirteen levels of buildings. The structure is actually much larger than this with a huge area to the right and a few more levels up top.

It's been abandoned for a few decades. The reason being it was very huge polluter. They planned to resolve this by building four new structures which would help to cut down the pollution, but half way through they ran out of money and decided to just close it down. Now the only inhabitants seem to be a large pack of dogs whom rule this large parking lot and lower buildings unopposed.

While it is "closed" now, the local city advertises taking a visit here. It appears as though in the past you were allowed to come in and explore. You can also see the remnants of tourist information signs around the structures. Now there are various points of entries where the more adventurous could enter.

Actually the biggest surprise is that this large parking lot is also closed. It's obvious this parking lot was used for quite awhile after the mine closed for public parking and as a bus stop for tourist buses. But for some reason they now closed access to what Taiwan desperately needs more of...parking spaces.

I explored a bit of the outer buildings, without going in to far. My friend was too scared to go in, which probably saved me from exploring too much of this death trap on my own. Although it seemed more like she wanted me to go in and look around and if i didn't die, she would come in to take a look.
