Two dull handsaws, a strong, hard trunk, and my decreasing strength and stamina all collided when it came time to cut those precious inches off the Christmas tree trunk in the slim hope that the poor thing might partake of some water. As you can see from the cut pattern, I have little talent as a lumberjack. Tears, sweat, and determination eventually won out and the tree is now in the house. Mick says it's an odd looking thing. Very "rotund" and slightly off-kilter. I am sure, though, that with lights, ornaments, and tinsel it will look lovely. That chore, however, is for another day.
