Beneath Tilikum by aecasey

Beneath Tilikum

Very full day. We got a cart to move boxes, which was a life saver (as was the elevator we found in Templeton as there were still some staircases to maneuver). Then husband, a very accomplished and competent, but travel challenged person, texts me, "Left iPad on plane. What do I do?" "Where are you?" "Downtown" So began the race to locate the iPad, while moving, and getting ready for the Honors Convocation. Thankfully the iPad was all he lost, as he found his way to campus on time (Pacific, not Mountain as the next series of texts explained), and even slightly put-out youngest was happy to have attended the convocation. She received Departmental Honors in Rhetoric and Media Studies, at a ceremony that shared outstanding accomplishments in this graduating class. So why are you seeing Tilikum? Well, next to the Japanese Garden, several restaurants, and The Benson, this is one of my favorite spots. It is such a beautiful bridge, and I love that it is a pedestrian bridge. I catch the Orange Line and ride down just to take in the colors and enjoy the walk, which, at the end of this very long day was a bit of a struggle. The river reflections weren't nice tonight, though, but the barricades have been removed from this installation. Here's the bridge from my last visit: http://365project.org/aecasey/365/2015-10-08
Mary @mcsiegle I'm going to bombard you with Portland photos. Hope you don't mind.

I don't mind at all. This has a slightly alien spacecraft look to it. A bit disorienting at first. I thought it looked like the boards of a pedestrian walkway ON the bridge, but your title says beneath. Intriguing, though. I'd love to see the Tilikum Crossing bridge in person. Mission WELL accomplished. Your Portland photos have made me want to rush out and buy a ticket to Oregon.
