I always leave a few apples on the tree for the migrating birds, particularly the blue jays that happen through in the fall. This year, though, our autumn has been remarkably mild and there are still a few butterflies flitting about. With the flowers now mostly gone, this Red Admiral was enjoying the decaying apples that have been largely ignored by the jays this year. Whether you call it global warming or climate change, it does seem our seasons are shifting a bit.
A fav.
