There were two young bucks along the side of the corn field this morning as I drove by. They calmly watched when I stopped, grabbed my camera, and started taking photos. Then I noticed those ears. They are mule deer, not the flighty white tails we usually have around. I've been told by the local wildlife specialists that the mule deer population has been in decline. These two, are in fact, the first mule deer I've seen in several years. I hope they are part of a group and that they enjoy that cornfield. I've always liked them more than white tails.
