We may not have extreme seasons here, but we do actually have some sort of autumn. Far too many vineyards in this valley, but their color is quite beautiful this time of year I must admit.
My Get Pushed this week is from Sally @salza who rightly noticed I don't use a lot of split-toning in my images so challenged me to do so. Color images aren't always obvious with this technique, but here I tuned the highlights to a warm yellow and the shadows to a cooler blue. Tomorrow I'll post the same shot, but using split-tone on a black and white for a more obvious result.
I hope all you who celebrate Thanksgiving had a lovely and safe day! Peace
AI, I have been running behind in commenting. I saw your black and white first ;-).
Love the lighting and amazing processing. Very natural;, I had no idea till reading your narrative that you changed the colors a bit.
@ludwigsdiana@gardencat We have been in a very serious drought for a number of years now and residents are being made to ration their water while at the same time paying more and more for it. And yet, the vineyards, which use considerably more water than most of the agriculture they are replacing, are still getting approved for development. They are quite beautiful, I agree, but I'm afraid the environmentalist in me believes this is very irresponsible on our county supervisors' part.
A wonderful colours and light. I'm sorry to hear about your water problems but that's the way it is. Money rules and shortsighted politics. Unfortunately, I am a pessimist.
