Sally @salza is my Get Pushed partner this week and she asked me to try using split-toning on an image. Not a technique I've much (if any) experience with so it is indeed a challenge. Yesterday I mentioned I would post the same image today only using the technique on a black and white image this time instead of color. Well, this isn't the exact same image after all, but it is the same subject at least! I again tuned the highlights to a warm yellow and the shadows to a cooler blue.
Many thanks to all who continue to comment on my efforts--much appreciated!
@aikiuser I was pondering how it would look using a warm purple tone in the highlights. Or even just switching your current colours around ie making the shadows warm and the highlights cool
@salza As purple is very low on the list of colors I like, I confess to not trying that one! However, I did explore switching the warm and cool tones. I will say that while a few folks might like the results, I found them a bit muddy and unappealing. ...at least with those images. Perhaps I'll try it on another...
Out of interest did you try working with warm colours?
