Got Pushed

Sally @salza is my Get Pushed partner this week and she asked me to try using split-toning on an image. Not a technique I've much (if any) experience with so it is indeed a challenge. Yesterday I mentioned I would post the same image today only using the technique on a black and white image this time instead of color. Well, this isn't the exact same image after all, but it is the same subject at least! I again tuned the highlights to a warm yellow and the shadows to a cooler blue.

Many thanks to all who continue to comment on my efforts--much appreciated!

Peace
Oh! I love this! FAV and pinning. =)

The lighting is lovely. The subject works well. I like how the veining of the leaves shows up.
Out of interest did you try working with warm colours?

The split tone works brilliantly in this shot. Great choice

@salza Only on the highlights (on both the color and β€œb/w”) did I use warm tones. I thought I might try again in the next day or two... ;-)

@aikiuser I was pondering how it would look using a warm purple tone in the highlights. Or even just switching your current colours around ie making the shadows warm and the highlights cool

Superb toning and lighting

works beautifully here too, fav

@salza As purple is very low on the list of colors I like, I confess to not trying that one! However, I did explore switching the warm and cool tones. I will say that while a few folks might like the results, I found them a bit muddy and unappealing. ...at least with those images. Perhaps I'll try it on another...
