Some people think sparrows are uninteresting as far as bird life is concerned. I admit to having not been all that enthralled either, and never photographed them much. But then I actually started actually paying attention and noticing their details. While not in-your-face colorful, I find them quite beautiful and I especially like the Lark Sparrow with its boldly defined markings. Plus, their song is always so cheery, Bob!
I very much appreciate all your views, comments and favs. Thank you for your time and inspiration!
I think it’s kind of like bugs and macro photography. You have to really stop and look at the details to appreciate a subject. I confess I felt the same about sparrows until I started photographing them out of a desperation for subjects during a long colourless winter. Then I began noticing their details and differences.
Very interesting composition! And like you, I'm trying to learn about sparrows, too. Just a couple of days ago I was enchanted by a bird song, photographed what I thought was a white-crowned sparrow and thought I hadn't seen the singing bird when I learned that I had indeed seen and photographed a white throated sparrow. Last year I posted a photo I titled, "I'm not JUST a sparrow."
