Winter Wonderland by aikiuser

Winter Wonderland

With a little (or maybe a really lot) of imagination, you can see snow. And Santa's sleigh. And a nice frozen pond to skate on.

Well, maybe not. But this is all I could muster for the "Holiday Spirit" theme, seeing as how we have exactly one decoration up and it doesn't snow here and I'm just that lame.

This is a composite of a texture I shot this evening (an old, scratched up Lucky Strike metal tin) and a "sunset in the country" photo I took a week or so ago but never posted. Played with the blending modes and here you have it.

Let's hope I can get out and do some "real" photography soon. Only one more day of work this week--Woot!

I'm squinting real hard and I think I can just make out Santa and his sleigh flying across the sky.

You used my favorite tin to make this?! Do tell how! I see all the things you pointed out---no need to look hard. You've created quite the masterpiece here, friend. Well done! ;)

@allie912 Yup, squinting is what does it. I probably should have worn glasses while creating this... ;-)

@lacedxxoo Yup. I shot The Tin. Macro lens, tripod, big ass craft lamp. Plastered it on a photo of the sunset, tweaked the blending modes, and voila. The glorious mess you see before you was born! ...And btw, I have a certain murder shot ready for you. Come and get it! ;-)
